Laura Williams - Digipak Inspiration
As a group, we started to plan the digipak and map out the basis for our album 'Fools Paradise'. When doing research on different photo shopping techniques, I came across an artist called Laura Williams. I contributed this to the group and we all came up with ideas from her inspiration. For example, Kayleigh came up with the idea of having a teapot as her head. We feel that using these skills in our digipak will fit with the theme running through out artists song and music video.
Title Number 2
Due to class discussions and the input of friends and target audience, we found a mixed view on our first title. We decided to create another title which is a little less detailed but effective at the same time. I feel that this title works well as it is included by doesnt add too much time onto the song or the video. I feel that if the title is too long, the target audience will get bored at the beginning of the music video. As a group, we created another title. We understand that this title needs improving but we feel that have 2 will give us the chance to get target audience feedback so we can choose the title which best suits our artist and our target audience.

Audience Feedback
This is our audience feedback. I chose to type it up so that we didn't lose any of the feedback given. We have taken this feedback on-board. Here are some of the improvements we were given to make. We found that as a group, these little things can be changed with small adjustments. I found that there are some solutions all these points.
- Blue - We can add another shooting day and add some juxtaposing shots. We can achieve this with colours. I think that it would be a good idea to have her surrounded by people who are completely different to her. People have told us they like the edgy feel of her dark lipstick and we should play on this. For example, if we surround her with people in white and she can now wear darker clothing with dark lipstick & crazy hair.
- Yellow - I feel that if we do achieve the first point successfully, we would be able to replace the time lapse with other shots. These newer shots would fit better and fit better with our artist herself.
- Pink - This would be easy as we can achieve it by filming close up of both our artist, the horses and even the flowers & nature.
Progression of the title
This posts highlights the progression when making our title for our music video. We started with a plain white background with black font. We found that this wasn't very effective when it comes to our music video. In order to make our title stand out, we had the idea of a movie film title. We found that this would bring some unique features to our music video and will help us to develop our skills when using after effects. We used Adobe After Effects to achieve the look of the title. This was the first title that we thought about creating. We first wanted something that would fit in with the video and the artist’s star image that is when we came up with the idea of having an old projector that is all grainy to give it an old fashion look. This would fit in with the artist star image because, it’s very individual and vintage which is what she is all about.

Research into merchandise
I started my research into merchandise so that we could develop our own for Luna Lux & also to include it into the website. Firstly, I found the most commonly used merchandise. It is important to do two things with your merchandise: meet the target audience and show your star image. I found that through research the most popular items fit our target audience but we would need to come up with unique ideas which would suit our star image more.

I also researched into the fact of how big your artist is. I found that smaller artists stick to a limited range of products whereas well known artists sell mostly every item available. Due to the money, bigger artist are able to focus a lot on their fans and merchandise. Whereas, smaller artists focus their money on the production of music rather than advertisement and websites.
Website Draft Screenshots
This is the welcome page that will first appear when the audience will access the site. We wanted one as it will help market the music video that we will be releasing. At the moment it is very plain, so to improve this page we will want to maybe have a boarder which will fit with her star image to make the page look a little more interesting.
This is the home page of the site the background is a colour kaleidoscope, we thought that this will help to add to her star image of being quite weird and different. There are links to her social networking sites, such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Tumblr, when you click on the button the site will open up. This will help to make the page more interactive and help her fans to keep in touch with her.
This is the about me page where Luna Lux has left a little note to the fans about her and her new album. This is a conventional page to have on a website as it gives the audience a way to get to know the artist more, and feel like they are talking to them. Also the “Luna Lux xoxo” has a transition on that makes it look like she is writing it on, which makes the page look like she actually wrote that.
This is the album page where the audience can listen to her music, as it has all the songs on from her album. The east of eden song will actually play, but as the other songs are not real they do not have any sound to them. We also made a place where there fans can leave their comments below of what they thought of the album.
Next is the social networking site where it has all the feeds coming from her Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. This is an easier way for the audience to see what she is posting and what she is up to, but also helps to make the blog more interactive.
This is the gallery where there are pictures from shooting the video and of the artist, this gives the audience something to look at. When the mouse hovers over the pictures slit the picture become bigger to see all of the picture. This helps the site to become more interactive and makes it more interesting.
This is the merchandise site where they can buy the clothing. When they hover over the picture they can see how much it will cost and when they click on it they can chose the size they want with the design they want. As the size gets bigger the more expensive it is.
This is the inspiration page to make the website different from other websites. This is where she will put her inspirations eg the book and there will be links to listen to her favourite music. This is hopefully making the blog really interactive.
This is the events page where the audience can see where Luna will be and where she will be playing.
Merchandise
These pictures are of our first batch of merchandise. We created them in different ways, using photoshop. We started with the most common items such as: t-shirts, pillows and wristbands. We found that these are important to have due to our target audience and also as these are vital items. Having these items will be worthwhile for our artist. We then went on to create other things which make our artist more unique. We have started to bring out our star image through all of these items.
From feedback, we found that we need to make a stronger logo which is simple but effective. We also need to create a clear indication between mens tops & womens tops.

Tour Date T-Shirts
These are the different Tour Dates styles that we could have on the back of our tops or any other merchandise that we chose to have on our website. We tried the list out in different colours to see what would look the best and suit the genre of the artist. We went round asking our target audience what they thought would be to have on the back of the top. The most popular choice was black, as this was the most traditional colour to have as a colour. This would help to make our top look more professional, and more attractive to buy for our consumers.
Fonts for 'East Of Eden'
These are the different fonts that we thought about having for the single of East of Eden. These fonts are all very different to one and other. We need to chose a font which is rememberable and liked by our target audience.
Fonts For 'Fools Paradise'
These are a handful of the fonts that we found could be used for our album title. We picked them so that they fitted our target audience and even our star image. We wanted the fonts to be unique and rememberable. We liked these four fonts as they were different from the everyday font that you see on albums, this would help her to stand out more as an artist. From these four we need to pick the best one that fits in with her genre. When asking our target audience, the most popular font was number 3. We found this was because it is very different and fits with genre of our album. This font can be used on our digipak, website and merchendise.

Luna Lux: Draft 4
Today we have finally finished the basis of the first lot of editing. We have taken the shots from the first two scheduled filming days and made that into the basis of our music video. To expand on this we need to get feedback of what they like and what needs to be improved, so when we get to our filming days we can add it more which will hopefully make the music video more effective and more successful. We need to add in more filming days into our schedule so that we can shorten the long shots. This will allow our music video to be improved. Since we have the first basis done it also means that we need to start putting together our Digipak and website.

Luna Lux: Bad Shots
These are the bad shots that we filmed during our shooting days. The first shot was bad, as the artist forgot the words of the song, which meant that we couldn't use them, because we needed to show that the artist knows all the words to the song. The second shot is because; the railing of the fence is covering her lips which meant that we cannot see the singing the song. The next one is because again she forgot the words which meant that we cannot use the shot. The forth shot we didn’t like very much as it cuts off one of the horse head and it shows the fence of the garden which doesn’t make it look very professional. The powder paints that it thrown over her the first time wasn’t very good as there wasn’t much of an impact that people got from it. When we filmed the next shot we didn’t realise that we were going to cut her cut off when she sat down, which made the shot bad, as it didn’t focus on the artist. The next shot is of her sitting at the table but when she is lip syncing she isn’t very in to it and very emotionless which doesn’t make this part look very good, so we re-filmed it so she got onto it more. The next shot of the horse head isn’t a very nice shot of the horse which doesn’t make the video look appealing, so we wanted to find a different way of showing the horses head. The last shot isn’t very good because, it’s been filmed the wrong way round, which means even if we flip in round to the right way it will not fit in with the rest of our footage, which wouldn’t make the music video very good.
Behind the scene with Luna lux: Day 2
This is behind the shots day two. This time we filmed in Grace’s garden as this would be more appropriate, so getting everything set up and would make it easier for us. Again this would be something that we can put on our website as fans are always egger to see what happened behind the scene of the new music videos. It was difficult filming in her garden as we had to make sure that we didn’t get any of the houses in or any other aspects of her garden apart from the tea party. We hope this shows how much work went into filming this music video, and how we constructed everything

First Edit - Luna Lux
This is our first draft of our music video for Luna Lux. This edit is still only rough and some shots are still quite long, but this gives us a basis of what we have achieved so far and what we need to do to go back and improve. For example we saw that our artist is very emotionless when she sings, to contrast this when we film our concept shots, we can have the singer being more passionate about the song which will give the music video a good variation. From having this already we can ask our target audience what they think of it, to see if we have got the message that we wanted over, and if it fits the song genre of it. The start of the song was quite hard as we weren’t quite sure how to start it as we had different ideas of what we should have but also, it goes straight in to the lyrics which means that we do not have time to build up the shots.

Looking Back At Risk Assessment
After filming and looking back at the risk assessment, we managed to make sure that all the risks that we identified were kept at a low, this is shown through how the team and the artist wasn’t injured and didn’t get hurt. This was a success, as if we didn’t make this assessment that maybe we wouldn’t have looked for these hazards, which meant that someone could of got hurt, which would have resulted in our filming time being reduced, which was something that we really wanted to avoided on the second day of shooting as daylight was decreasing fast, which mean that we really needed to make sure that all of our shots were completed. If we were to do it again, maybe we should of had set everything up and walked the artist through what could be dangerous for her, so she knows automatically what to look out for, which will also help to reduce any injuries while filming.

Research into Make-up & Costume
Make-up -
When looking into makeup we looked at techniques that could be used in order to achieve the boho style for our artist. There were many tutorials that we watched by we picked these final two as we feel that these are the most natural makeup of the tutorials. This would make our artist look friendly, natural and laidback which is what we want to achieve. From researching futher into makeup, we found that we would only want natural/minimal makeup on our artist as we want her to show natural beauty. These videos show some make-up styles that we would like to use on our artist.

Costume - We researched all types of costumes which we could protentially use within our music video. We found that we would defiantly want to use white as we feel that this would make our artist stand out, have her own star image and represent her purity in her that she doesnt want to conform to society. We decided that we wanted more than one costume. One we wanted to be long and flowly with flowers. This costume would be used within the London filming area as it will help to really emphases her star image. To juxtapose this we want her second costume to be shorter with gold accesories. This would be used in the tea party shows because it will show that she is more free and less covered up in her 'Eden'. The gold is used to make her look more modern and reflect on her bold personality.

Research Into Hairstyles
These are the hairstyles that we researched into. They consist of many different types of braids, wavy hair and accessories. When looking into hairstyles which go with the style of our artist Luna Lux. As a group we picked to apply the boho/indie style to our artist as we feel that it helps to protray her in the way we wanted to. For example, the colours and styles we have chosen help to show her laid back, friendly nature. Hair style one is my favourite as I feel that it helps to make our artist look the way we want her to look and also as it will look amazing with the costumes that we researched within the group. Braids and wavy hair was our final favourite hairstyles as we feel that it suits our chosen performer and also adds to her star image.
Research into Location

Regents Park - We thought that this would be an amazing place to film some footage for our music video as it is in the main city where society like to wonder about which is what we want to show within our music video. This means that she will stand out more compared to society within these settings. This will help to show how she doesnt want to conform to society; this setting would make this message more obvious for the audience to see. The autumn colours of the tress with juxtapose her hair, props and costume nicely making her look summery and stand out. This park is perfect as the water, folours and lakes will help use to show that our star is very nature based. As you can see from the map, it would take us around about an hour and a half to arrive at Regent's Park and to set up. We will be travelling by train to make it easier for memebers within the group.

London Town - Within this picture we have shown places such as: Bond Street, Oxford Street, Regent Street and Embankment. These places are possible location for us to film our time lapse shots where she has people who are conforming to society which she isnt. We will show this by having her wearing clothes that make her stand out. These places would be good as they are very popular and busy meaning that the more people the better our time lapse will look. The problem with this shot/location is having people reacting weirdly to being filmed which could ruin the shots.

Swimming Pool - Lastly this is our school swimming pool which we would use to film underwater shots or her laying ontop of the water. This would add to her star image of being nature based. The problem with this location, are the titles on the bottom as we want a location which could possibly have better titles or a plain bottom. This would make the shot look more believeable and professional.

Artist Name Questionnaire
In order to find the perfect name for our artist we made a short questionnaire which we asked to our target audience. This helped us to make sure that we had to perfect name which our audience would love and notice. We did this by asking 3 short questions which were straight to the point and relevant. The 3 questions asked were the following:
- Do you think an artists name is important?
- When looking at our artist, which name do you feel suits her the most? (We held up a picture of our artist)
- What type of music (genre) does she create when hearing her name?

Inital Shot Placement
This is our initial shot placement. We used a template of the lyrics in order to plan where we was going to play certain aspects of the music video. For example, performance, narrative or concept shots. We split the lyrics into two parts. The first is were the artist is showing that she doesnt want to conform to society. Secondly is what the artist sees as her Eden. This is used to show the clash and the difference between the two. This is help to keep the audience intrigued throughout and make them watch to the end.
Some lyrics are repetitive but the beat and pace changes meaning that we can play with different shots of her emotions & Eden. From doing this task we was helped with post production. This is because when it comes to filming with have a rough idea of where each shots should be placed and located. This also helped us to play a shooting schedule because it mean that we could spilt days into locations. For example, we are starting with the city filming on Monday 27th October.

zella day lip sync
This is a lip sync practice for our chosen song. We did this so that our chosen artist could start to get over the fear of the camera and also to learn the lyrics more. We found that this was very helpful as our artist agreed that it helped for these things. When we started shooting for the practice, she was shy and embarrassed but soon over come her fear as she learn the lyrics and become more confident. Doing this means that when it comes to shooting, our artist will be able to focus more, meaning that we will get more shots done in one day.

Audience's Lyrics Analysis
From this we got a wider understanding of the lyrics and found other ideas which our target audience would like to see. With this video we can extract ideas to make our music video more unique and appealing to a wider audience.
What did you get from the lyrics?
- most people got that there was a person who wanted to get away from somebodies rules.

Film Ideas
In this video we show us creating a mind map of ideas for the music video. We discussed as a group while filming this. We came up with idea such as: having a nature like theme, the use of zooming, the use of time lapsing and including concept within our video to link into to deeper meanings of 'East of Eden'.
