Research into Make-up & Costume
Make-up -
When looking into makeup we looked at techniques that could be used in order to achieve the boho style for our artist. There were many tutorials that we watched by we picked these final two as we feel that these are the most natural makeup of the tutorials. This would make our artist look friendly, natural and laidback which is what we want to achieve. From researching futher into makeup, we found that we would only want natural/minimal makeup on our artist as we want her to show natural beauty. These videos show some make-up styles that we would like to use on our artist.

Costume - We researched all types of costumes which we could protentially use within our music video. We found that we would defiantly want to use white as we feel that this would make our artist stand out, have her own star image and represent her purity in her that she doesnt want to conform to society. We decided that we wanted more than one costume. One we wanted to be long and flowly with flowers. This costume would be used within the London filming area as it will help to really emphases her star image. To juxtapose this we want her second costume to be shorter with gold accesories. This would be used in the tea party shows because it will show that she is more free and less covered up in her 'Eden'. The gold is used to make her look more modern and reflect on her bold personality.

Research Into Hairstyles
These are the hairstyles that we researched into. They consist of many different types of braids, wavy hair and accessories. When looking into hairstyles which go with the style of our artist Luna Lux. As a group we picked to apply the boho/indie style to our artist as we feel that it helps to protray her in the way we wanted to. For example, the colours and styles we have chosen help to show her laid back, friendly nature. Hair style one is my favourite as I feel that it helps to make our artist look the way we want her to look and also as it will look amazing with the costumes that we researched within the group. Braids and wavy hair was our final favourite hairstyles as we feel that it suits our chosen performer and also adds to her star image.
Research into Location

Regents Park - We thought that this would be an amazing place to film some footage for our music video as it is in the main city where society like to wonder about which is what we want to show within our music video. This means that she will stand out more compared to society within these settings. This will help to show how she doesnt want to conform to society; this setting would make this message more obvious for the audience to see. The autumn colours of the tress with juxtapose her hair, props and costume nicely making her look summery and stand out. This park is perfect as the water, folours and lakes will help use to show that our star is very nature based. As you can see from the map, it would take us around about an hour and a half to arrive at Regent's Park and to set up. We will be travelling by train to make it easier for memebers within the group.

London Town - Within this picture we have shown places such as: Bond Street, Oxford Street, Regent Street and Embankment. These places are possible location for us to film our time lapse shots where she has people who are conforming to society which she isnt. We will show this by having her wearing clothes that make her stand out. These places would be good as they are very popular and busy meaning that the more people the better our time lapse will look. The problem with this shot/location is having people reacting weirdly to being filmed which could ruin the shots.

Swimming Pool - Lastly this is our school swimming pool which we would use to film underwater shots or her laying ontop of the water. This would add to her star image of being nature based. The problem with this location, are the titles on the bottom as we want a location which could possibly have better titles or a plain bottom. This would make the shot look more believeable and professional.

Artist Name Questionnaire
In order to find the perfect name for our artist we made a short questionnaire which we asked to our target audience. This helped us to make sure that we had to perfect name which our audience would love and notice. We did this by asking 3 short questions which were straight to the point and relevant. The 3 questions asked were the following:
- Do you think an artists name is important?
- When looking at our artist, which name do you feel suits her the most? (We held up a picture of our artist)
- What type of music (genre) does she create when hearing her name?

Inital Shot Placement
This is our initial shot placement. We used a template of the lyrics in order to plan where we was going to play certain aspects of the music video. For example, performance, narrative or concept shots. We split the lyrics into two parts. The first is were the artist is showing that she doesnt want to conform to society. Secondly is what the artist sees as her Eden. This is used to show the clash and the difference between the two. This is help to keep the audience intrigued throughout and make them watch to the end.
Some lyrics are repetitive but the beat and pace changes meaning that we can play with different shots of her emotions & Eden. From doing this task we was helped with post production. This is because when it comes to filming with have a rough idea of where each shots should be placed and located. This also helped us to play a shooting schedule because it mean that we could spilt days into locations. For example, we are starting with the city filming on Monday 27th October.

zella day lip sync
This is a lip sync practice for our chosen song. We did this so that our chosen artist could start to get over the fear of the camera and also to learn the lyrics more. We found that this was very helpful as our artist agreed that it helped for these things. When we started shooting for the practice, she was shy and embarrassed but soon over come her fear as she learn the lyrics and become more confident. Doing this means that when it comes to shooting, our artist will be able to focus more, meaning that we will get more shots done in one day.

Audience's Lyrics Analysis
From this we got a wider understanding of the lyrics and found other ideas which our target audience would like to see. With this video we can extract ideas to make our music video more unique and appealing to a wider audience.
What did you get from the lyrics?
- most people got that there was a person who wanted to get away from somebodies rules.

Film Ideas
In this video we show us creating a mind map of ideas for the music video. We discussed as a group while filming this. We came up with idea such as: having a nature like theme, the use of zooming, the use of time lapsing and including concept within our video to link into to deeper meanings of 'East of Eden'.

From this feedback, our group then went on to see what audiences thought on our lyrics. We asked them for what they thought the lyrics meant and also any ideas which came to mind. This allowed us to consider what audiences may like to see within our music video.

Audience Questionnaire
When looking back at our feedback from the audience questionnaire, it has showed us the details that will help to create our artist in the best way to fit our target audience. When looking at the answers given, we found out that people who are 15-18 mostly listen to pop, Indie and Hip Hop. This was helpful because the genre of our song is indie pop which means we now know who the target audience is for our music video and who to direct the artist This means that it is important for our artist to have a good dress sense which is different from any other artist and makes our artist fit the target audience more.
A question that people found quite hard to answer was “What do you like about music videos” this is mainly because, they do not look for anything specific that they want to see, as this will make all the videos look the same. For the editing to be faced pace and tell a story came up a lot which shows that, for our music video to be good it needs something to hold it together, which mostly looks like a narrative. To make a music video interesting our target audience we need to make it unique and different to really entice them.
We found that the following amount of people like performance, narrative and concept. We could should really take this into account when making our final music video as it will help to make it appeal to our target audience. We need to do more research into this to do this effectively.6 - Performance
5 - Narrative
5 - Concept
From this questionnaire which was mostly targeted at teenagers, we found that most people find out about new music videos through music channels and social media. This is because it is easier for them to check up on anything new but also because it is easily accessible. It is important to know this so that when we finish our music video we target in the best way possible to fit the target audience. From the online survey, which we submitted we found that 30+ people are more likely to find out about music videos through the radio. We should take this into consideration when marketing out artist we should target it in more ways to widen out target audience.
Instagram and Twitter are very popular when targeting our artist to teenagers as they are the biggest users of social media. This means that we will create a Twitter & Instagram page so that the target audience can follow out artist better.
By completing these surveys and question has helped us to explore our genre and target audience the most. We now fully understand who we are targeting our music video at, which will lead to more sales of her music.
Lyrics Analysis
When researching about the lyrics and meaning of
the song we found it extremely hard. We found many different things that linked
to the song in many ways.
Firstly, a book written by John Steinbeck called East Of Eden. Secondly, that there is a biblical reference to the title of the songs of ‘sin and innocence’. Lastly, a film starring James Dean also called ‘East of Eden’. We feel that the meaning of the song changes weather you link it to any of these point.

We think that the chorus links to trying to escape and conforming to the rules of society. The lyrics show that she doesn't want to be trapped anymore and that she just wants to be freed from the rules of society. In the song we feel that she wants to find Eden; Paradise. The chorus also links to Steinbeck's book with the quotation "the free, roaming mind being perused, roped blunted, drugged."
The repetition of lines through out the song can be used to show desperation to find freedom. There are also sexual links throughout the song, for example, "unbuttoned down the middle".

Taylor Swift - Digipak Remake
This is the plan for our taylor swift digipak. We planned it on paper so that we could see how we will be able to successfully change the digipak. We decided to use this digipak as it was a realistic one for us to copy as it used pictures and computer skills. We copied the digipak trying to use the most similar locations, props and makeup. For example, we kept the white shirt, hat and red lip stick. We used both outside and inside locations in order to perfect our Taylor Swift digipak.
This is our final digipak. As you can see we kept the pictures the same throughout and kept to the colour scheme. Doing this made our remake look realistic and similar to the professionally make digipak. We had some trouble trying to get the lines onto the disk of the digipak. We feel that if we want to use lines like this again we need to use better software in order to perfectly get them to fit the circle. Doing this task has allowed us to gain the knowledge of digipak's so that when it comes to making our own, we will know how to lay it out.Comparisons of the original digipak and our remake:
Here you can see how successful we were at creating the remake extremely like the original.
